It's summer and you find yourself with some amazing fresh fruit. Let's say it's organic pluots (what a hybrid!) and blueberries. But it could be anything. You don't need to live on the prairie to make jam (though it does sound nice). Just slice it up, cover it with 3 or so inches of water in a big pot, add some lemon juice and some agave syrup (or sugar or honey if you want, and either way, not too much) and slow-boil it for an hour or so. If it isn't as thick as you want it to be, you can add a few tablespoons of cornstarch dissolved in warm water. Let it sit until it reaches room temperature, jar it up and put it in the fridge.
