Pick your grain--this one was sushi rice. Pick some protein--chicken for those who eat eat it, fried eggs or tofu for those who want that. Make a simple teriyaki: tamari, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, a little brown sugar or agave, some citrus juice and sesame seeds. Cook the protein in that sauce on the stove, in the oven or on a grill (cube it when done if it cooperates). Save some sauce for the veggie pan. Put them in thickest first--in this case asparagus, spinach and then pea shoots. Assemble the bowl grain first, then arrange the protein and vegetables however they look good to you. Slice an avocado on top if you have it. Sprinkle more sesame seeds and drizzle sriracha if you like it. Happy dinner!
